Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to visit Rocklands?

The main Rocklands season for climbing usually runs from the Southern Hemisphere’s late autumn (May) into spring (September), when the air is cool and dry enough for long days on the boulders. Guests who are here for hiking, stargazing, or a slower farm stay often enjoy the same window — mild days and crisp evenings. The Biedouw Valley daisies emerge in the spring.

If you already know your travel window, send it through in your enquiry and we will help you plan around conditions and local flow.

Do you offer meals for guests?

No, the cottages are self-catering units with full kitchen and outside braai.

For breakfast and lunch, visit The Hen House Coffee Shop across the road. During peak climbing season, they run pizza nights and poitjie nights on a weekly basis.

Do you offer bouldering crash pad rental?

Yes! R100 per pad / day.
