When is the best time to visit Rocklands for climbing?
The main Rocklands season for climbing usually runs from the Southern Hemisphere’s late autumn (May) into spring (September), when the air is cool and dry enough for long days on the boulders. Guests who are here for hiking, stargazing, or a slower farm stay often enjoy the same window — mild days and crisp evenings.

December and January is the height of the South African summer - intense heat (highs of 29-34°C), very dry air, and a consistent breeze. Despite daytime heat, it cools down significantly at night (lows of 15-18°C). Guests are advised to bring light clothing for the day and a warmer layer for at night.
Is the wifi fast enough for remote work and video calls?
Yes, we have fast reliable wifi. No Eskom load-shedding as we are fully off-grid and powered by solar.
What payment options do you offer?

- EFT (Electronic Bank Transfer) - US and European guests favour Wise, Revolut etc to deposit into a South African account from abroad.

Is wood available to purchase?
Yes, wood and charcoal can be purchased at Nama and neighbouring farms. Wood is R40 per bag.
Our gift shop includes a selection of locally produced Rooibos tea, organic coffee, raw honey and clean cosmetics.

Can I rent crashpads?
Yes, R100 per pad per day.
